Sustainability

Boreas is dedicated to implementing sustainable practices to ensure responsible operations and preserve the health of the environment. We have implemented strict policies to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact throughout our production process. This includes advanced wastewater systems that clean and treat our wastewater before it is discharged, as well as efficient recycling methods to optimize water and energy use. In addition, we recycle all polystyrene used in packaging to reduce the amount of plastic waste and reduce our overall environmental impact. We are also committed to following sustainable fishing practices by partnering with trusted farmers who focus on animal welfare and use sustainable feeding methods.

Furthermore, we ensure that our products are certified by recognized bodies, and we continuously work to reduce our carbon footprint through investments in green energy and the use of more environmentally friendly packaging solutions. These measures are part of our commitment to running a responsible and sustainable factory.

The big picture

In a world with a lack of enough food and protein for everyone, we at Boreas want to make our small contribution. We have a strong focus on how we can best produce and develop products based on the basic idea of utilizing the whole fish.

By-products

We take care of all by-products in production, and sell them further into the food chain for use as food for either humans or animals. This amounts to large volumes in a year, an estimated 3,000 tons per year at full operation in the factory.

We look forward

In the years ahead, Boreas wants to be responsible for a stable, safe and efficient production of salmon and trout products distributed around the world. We will have a continuous focus on optimizing the quality of our products, the efficiency of the production line, and ensuring food safety in the best possible way.
